Home-School-Community Partnerships

Parents and community volunteers are an important and welcomed part of our educational program at Kathryn Hughes Elementary School. Some of the services they provide are listed below. Please contact your child's teacher, Mr. Young, or the PTA Board to seek opportunities to volunteer at Hughes.

1. Volunteering regularly in classrooms. (Please refer to the SCUSD Volunteer Information and Packet)

2. Volunteering to chaperone on field trips. (Please refer to the SCUSD Volunteer Information and Packet)

3. Providing assistance with special projects.

4. Serving on the PTA Board, organizing and supporting school-wide activities for parents, teachers and students.

5. Support all fundraising efforts by the PTA and School.

6. Helping at PTA events such as: Harvest Festival, Winter Festival, Egg Hunt, and other events.

7. Serving on the School Site Council, or ELAC elected groups of parents and school staff
members meet regularly to develop, implement, and evaluate school programs
